What Does Your Boyfriend's Car Say About Him?

Men have a reputation of treating their car not merely as a means of transportation but as an extension of their ego. Is there some truth to this belief? Though a large percentage of men may view their vehicle as a means to get from point A to point B, you cannot deny that driving a car is kind of making a statement in some way. These days, especially with rising fuel costs and energy concerns, how you get around is quite a critical issue. And of course you’d love some more ways to psychoanalyze your boyfriend’s subconscious mind. Right? So, what does your boyfriend’s car say about him?

BIG SUV

This is the car that typically screams, “I am compensating for SOMETHING!” and yeah, I’m going to have to agree that this man is most likely compensating for some insecurity. A man with an SUV is really a little boy inside, a boy who likes big toys. And he likes to play rough. But watch out! Big SUVs show a lack of concern for the environment…could that lack of concern transfer to your needs too?

Small Economy Car/Hybrid

This man values function over form. Or maybe he’s just poor? Obviously, hybrid car drivers are concerned about the environment and want to telegraph that to the world: impending doom, next exit! He’s a sensitive man who is aware of his surroundings, so he’s likely to listen and pay close attention to your nonverbal communication. Either he’s frugal or too cool to care, but he doesn’t really have much interest in showy material possessions.

Flashy Sports Car

Picture the scenario: you are sitting in your car at a red light and a bright red sports car pulls up next to you. You look through the window and see…what? A hot, young and stylish guy, or a balding man in the midst of a midlife crisis? 9 times out of 10 it’s the latter. Because sports cars are expensive! And he’s always dreamed of owning this car– just like every other 13-year-old boy. Guys like this live on the surface and are quite conservative and uncreative. But hey! Maybe you are too?
